There are three types of celebrities on social media: those who are good at it, those who aren’t, and Chrissy Teigen. While Teigen first became known for her modeling and TV-hosting work, these days she’s almost as famous for her jokes and social commentary on the internet. Most celebrities rely on PR teams to manage their tweets, snaps, and grams, but Teigen does it all herself — and she’s more hilarious, clever, and genuine than any hired gun.

Whether she’s teasing husband John Legend, trolling Donald Trump, or saying the things we all wish we could, her social media feeds are nonstop gold. It’s hard to choose favourites of her posts, but we’re going to try. Here are 12 times Chrissy Teigen was our online hero.

When she roasted her husband

Teigen and Legend clearly have the kind of marriage most people dream about, but Teigen’s sarcasm keeps things from getting too saccharine. As anyone who follows her knows, she loves making fun of Legend online, and it’s some of our favourite Chrissy content.

When she showed her meme literacy

When the internet decided that Legend looked like cartoon character Arthur, Teigen — in typical fashion — didn’t disagree. Instead, she used the opportunity to bring the “Arthur clenching his fist” meme to a whole new level.

Just accept it, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are the best couple on the internet.

When she became a meme herself

Back in 2015, when John Legend won a Golden Globe for “Glory,” Teigen had a teary and touching emotional reaction. But the screencap of her face that got passed around the Internet didn’t exactly capture the sentimentality of the moment moment. Instead, Teigen’s cringey expression became the representative for every awkward, collar-tugging moment any of us has ever had. And, as with most things, Teigen didn’t shy away from mentioning it on Twitter.

When her pizza obsession got the best of her

While most models know it’s a good PR move to brag about how much you love eating pizza and hamburgers, Teigen’s tweets show all the signs of real fast-food obsession.

But she was also willing to speak the hard truth about Nutella

I mean, is it really that good?

When she got the Backstreet Boys to explain their lyrics

Admit it, you’ve never understood the lyrics to the old BSB hit “I Want It That Way.” Despite the title, they spend the entire song imploring their girl not to say she wants it that way. What gives? When Chrissy Teigen took to Twitter to express her confusion, it was a relatable moment, but no one expected the  Backstreet Boys to answer. But so great is Teigen’s Twitter power that the blue-checkmarked account of the BSB felt it had to show up and explain itself.

So what are the lyrics trying to say? Well apparently, what the way the Boys actually want it is for you never to say “I want it that way.” It all makes perfect sense … maybe.

When she showed off her . . . dance moves?

We don’t even know.

When she “celebrated” Donald Trump’s birthday with donations to the ACLU

When Donald Trump celebrated his 72nd birthday earlier this month, Teigen threw herself into the occasion, in her own way. Teigen, who was been blocked by the president for criticizing him on Twitter, posted on Instagram that in honour of Trump’s birthday, she and each member of her family had donated $72,000 to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which has dedicated itself to waging legal battles against Trump’s anti-minority policies. She asked others to donate to the ACLU in multiples of 72, and quickly raised over $1,000,000.

When she got real about motherhood

While most swimsuit models try to hide all instances of bodily imperfection, including the changes imposed by giving birth, Teigen wants the world to know that having a child is primal, painful, and not cute.

She’s also been outspoken about using IVF, andabout her struggles with post-partum depression, telling Glamour, “I want people to know it can happen to anybody, and I don’t want people who have it to feel embarrassed or to feel alone.”

When she missed the Met Gala

Teigen gave the Met Gala a miss this year because she was just weeks away from giving birth, but she was definitely still there in spirit.

When her love of fun dip conflicted with her celebrity lifestyle
